She was born in Alto Adige and is a graduate of the "A. Boito" Conservatory of Parma, under the guidance of soprano Jenny Anvelt. While at the conservatory she also perfected her singing under the guidance of tenor M° Franco Corelli. She has won various competitions such as Cascinalirica, Mario Del Monaco, Mario Basiola, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Gianfranco Masini and the Tchaikovsky International Competition of Moscow (the only Italian to be ranked in the Canto section since the start of the Competition).

Her polished timbre and ampie vocal range allowed her to debut in the important Verdi's roles of the Requiem Mass, of Amneris in Aida, Azucena in the Trovatore, Quickly in Falstaff, Fenena in Nabucco, Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino, Federica in Luisa Miller, Maddalena in Rigoletto and Uirica in Un Ballo in Maschera. She also played Adalgisa in the Norma by Bellini, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, the Princess Aunt in Suor Angelica by Puccini, the Princess of Bouillon in Adriana Lecouvreur by Cilea and both Blind and Laura in the Gioconda by Ponchielli.

In her repertoire in French she played Carmen in Bizet's opera with the same name, Ragonde in Le Comte Ory by Rossini and Dalila in Sanson et Dalila by Saint Saens. Her German repertoire includes the roles of Ortrud in Lohengrin and Flosshilde in the Rheingold by Wagner.
She is engaged in an intensive concert activity to promote the German and Russian Lieder.

She co-operated with the major Italian Theatres such as: La Scala in Milan, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Regio in Turin, San Carlo in Napies, Carlo Felice in Genoa, Fenice in Venice, Verdi in Trieste, Regio in Parma, Sferisterio in Macerata, the Ravenna Festival, and the Puccini Festival of Torre dei Lago. She also worked with various theatre of Italian tradition such as the ones in Ancona, Bergamo, Brescia, Cagliari, Como, Cremona, Lucca, Modena, Pavia, Piacenza, Pisa, Rovigo, Salerno, Trento as well as Avenches, Beyrouth, Geneva, Leipzig, Moscow, Palm Beach, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Wexford and Zurich. As far as conductors are concerned, she worked with Callegari, Campori, Carella, Chailly, De Bernart, Fournillier, Gandolfi, Morandi, Muti, Panni, Ranzani, Renzetti, Santi and Solti. She performed under the guidance of directors such as Bussotti, Cobelli, Deflo, Lavia, Miller, Olmi, Pizzi, Ranieri, Ronconi, Stefanutti and Von Hoeke.

She recorded for Bongiovanni the contemporary opera Pasqua Fiorentina by Isidoro Capitanio, the Mass in G by Bellini and Sacred Pieces by Sammartini. For Artè she recorded the DVD of Un Ballo in Maschera with Chailly conducting.
